I was born and raised in California and started playing guitar around 13 or so. I remember I had an old strat my dad bought me and after some time, sent me to lessons for about 6 months. The folks were happy with my new found talent (probably figured it would keep me out of trouble), but after several years I found myself playing in the local cover band- rehearsing in the garage type of thing and coming home smelling of beer and such. Yeah the parents didn’t like that too much but they started the damn thing didn’t they? Well anyway that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. |
So, my first exposure to Rush was the 2112 album - which changed my conception of guitar work and set me on a new path, one I’m still on today. I was always fascinated with the complexity of their music and the meaning of their songs as Neil’s lyrics spoke of many more things than traditional rock songs-and still do. Sure I also grew up with Zeppelin and AC/DC and Ozzy and the like but no one held my interest like Rush. |
Over the years I have played in many bands as well as several tribute acts including three Rush tribute bands. All those that I have had the privilege to play with I hold in high regard and am thankful for. I have played throughout Southern and Northern California, Colorado, Mexico, and even one show in the Caribbean-ouch (ground those insta-hots would ya). I am extremely lucky and honored to be a part of Freewill and entrusted to play all 12,375 notes correctly each and every night! I have to say that the cast and crew of Freewill are the most professional and dedicated group of people I have ever worked with. As demanding as this project is though, we still manage to have lots of fun and enjoy the challenges involved in putting on a professionally polished event. We hope to see you soon and please don’t hesitate to approach myself, Dave, or Rob at any show-We’d love to talk to you. Bye for now. |
